Robot Lawn Mowers
Robot mowers just had their biggest leap in years: the wire-free generation. No boundary wire to bury, no weekend with a trencher. The new machines navigate by satellite positioning, LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging — laser mapping), and cameras — set one up in an afternoon and it mows on its own schedule.
One thing to know before you shop: "wire-free" doesn't always mean "satellite-free." Some mowers navigate with LiDAR and cameras alone (they don't care about tree cover), while others depend on satellite positioning — and heavy tree canopy can still force you to buy an antenna. We call out which is which on every product.

Segway Navimow X4 (X430 / X450)
The lawn-beauty pick: gentlest turns, widest cut, best app — and an 84% slope claim nobody has verified yet. Plus the 64-pound problem.
Full review
ECOVACS GOAT A3000 LiDAR Pro
The only mower that trims its own edges — and the other satellite-free option. Weighed against rear-wheel-drive traction and Bluetooth mapping dropouts.
Full review
Husqvarna Automower 435X AWD NERA
The proven workhorse: credible slopes, pattern mowing, real dealers. Why there's no simple price — and when EPOS (Husqvarna's satellite positioning system) stops under the trees.
Full review
Worx Landroid Vision Cloud 4WD
Flagship tech at the lowest price — free lifetime RTK Cloud (cloud-corrected satellite positioning) included. The dusk problem, connectivity complaints, and the naming maze, explained.

The Full Luba 3 Lineup
Bigger yard than our 1500 handles? The 3000 (0.75 acre), 5000 (1.25 acres), and 10000 (~2.47 acres) add satellite positioning (Tri-Fusion: LiDAR + satellite + cameras) and bigger batteries — same platform, same app.
Mammotion line
Mammotion Yuka — The Sweeper Mower
The only robot mower that picks up after itself: an optional sweeper kit collects clippings and leaves, then the mower empties its own basket at a dumping spot. For leaf-buried yards, nothing else does this.
Small yards
Mammotion's Mini Mowers
Luba mini 2 AWD (with an edge-cutting disc that trims flush to fences), the original Luba mini AWD, and the Yuka minis — flagship navigation in small, cheaper bodies, from $1,299.
Previous generation
Mammotion Luba 2 AWD — The Budget Route
Last generation's flagship: same 80% slopes and wide cut, but it needs an RTK antenna in the yard. Superseded by the Luba 3 — which makes dealer clearance pricing the smart way in.
